HISTORY
Over six years ago an application for a low power (1,000 watt) FM license was initiated with the government. Two years ago this July the FCC granted three non-profit organizations permission to begin broadcasting on the 94.7 FM band. The three entities include Faith, another evangelical church and a secular entity called “Civic Media.” Each of the three organizations agreed to a broadcast schedule with Faith’s time slots shown here (the other two non-profits will split the rest of the broadcast day and each of them will have their own radio call letters).

THE ODDITY
Because of the three-way split of each broadcast day, you may tune in thinking you will hear WVFP and find out that someone else is broadcasting their programming at the hour you tune in. Please understand that the only thing we share is the radio frequency, so we hope people will not be too confused by this arrangement. However, we are grateful for the opportunity to reach Gainesville for eight hours of every day, seven days a week, 365 days a year with the Gospel, sound Bible teaching, and other programming.
Our desire is to contract with the best in Christian programming today. Ravi Zacharius’ ministry has already told us that they are on board. We believe that R.C. Sproul’s radio program will be one of the offerings on WVFP along with, God willing, many of the finest Bible expositors in the nation. We are committed to providing ministries that are sound in doctrine. We also plan to provide some children’s programming around the time of evening that little ones are usually put to bed. The best of Christian music will round out the broadcast day for WVFP.
THE PLAN You may hear a lot more music than WILL BE THE NORM. The first twelve months of broadcasting will be a building year for us. As new programs are secured we will begin airing those and include them in our broadcast lineup which you may access on this web site. We are committed to excellence and so we will not air “just anything” but only quality programming that honors the Lord.
